The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine announced that Dr. Abdulhadi Abbas Ibrahimi, Head of the Heritage and Antiquities Unit at the Treasury and Museum of the Shrine, earned first place among all research papers presented at the international conference. The event was hosted by the University of Isfahan in the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the participation of scholars, university professors, and specialists in heritage and history from Iraq, Iran, and other holy shrines.
Exploring the Historical and Religious Role of Shrine Restoration
Mr. Karrar al-Helu, Head of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, stated to the Shrine’s News Center:
“The conference, held under the title The History, Construction, Development, and Restoration of the Holy Shrines, aimed to examine the various aspects of shrine expansion and restoration in Iraq, and their influence on the religious, spiritual, and cultural dimensions of Islamic heritage.”
Holy Shrine Reconstruction: A Source of Cultural and Spiritual Enrichment
Several distinguished academic and religious figures delivered speeches during the event.
Shaikh Dr. Majid Farajallah, representative of the Custodian of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, emphasized:
“The holy shrines are not only centers of devotion and love for the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) but also constitute a priceless legacy within the shared heritage of Islamic civilization. He further stressed the importance of scholarly research in this field and expressed hope that the conference would strengthen academic, cultural, and spiritual collaboration between universities and religious institutions.”
Honoring Research on the Role of Shaikh Bahai in the Design of the Holy Shrine
Dr. Abdulhadi Ibrahimi stated:
“The conference addressed the historical, cultural, religious, and civilizational dimensions of the reconstruction of Shia holy shrines throughout history. Our research, titled The Role of Shaikh Bahai (may God sanctify his secret) in the Architectural Design of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), was awarded first place among the presented studies.”
He added:
“During the ceremony, several valuable publications were unveiled, including our book The History of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). The conference’s scientific committee honored us in recognition of this achievement.”
Presenting the Imam Ali Holy Shrine’s Publications to Iranian Universities
Dr. Ibrahimi also stated:
“We presented a selection of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine’s significant publications and scholarly works to the central libraries of the University of Isfahan and Al-Mustafa International University in Iran.”
