The Imam Ali Holy Shrine marked the blessed birth anniversary of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) by hosting a vibrant celebration at the University of Kufa. Organized by the Women’s Media Unit of the Shrine’s Media Department, the event—titled “The Aqilah Festival”—was held in the Faculty of Jurisprudence Hall and attended by a distinguished gathering of professors, students, and university officials.

Empowering Women in Academic Environments

Asraa al-Tamimi, Head of the Women’s Media Unit, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:

“The purpose of organizing this celebration within the university is to convey the message of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) to women in academic circles, as she stands as an eternal symbol of knowledge, patience, and leadership.”

She added:

“This initiative aligns with the vision of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine to empower female university students, nurture creativity across diverse fields, and promote values inspired by the noble character of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her).”

Artistic and Interactive Activities

Al-Tamimi explained that the festival featured interactive sessions, dramatic performances carrying moral and educational messages, and artistic presentations encouraging students to emulate Lady Zaynab’s steadfast faith, eloquence, and sense of responsibility.

The event concluded with the distribution of blessed gifts among students in appreciation of their participation and engagement.

Positive Academic Reception

Professors and students expressed great appreciation for the Shrine’s presence on campus, affirming that the celebration infused the academic environment with a spirit of spiritual reflection and inspiration, transforming the occasion into a meaningful opportunity to draw lessons from Lady Zaynab’s luminous life.

This program is part of a broader initiative by the Women’s Media Unit of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine aimed at enhancing religious awareness and strengthening moral and spiritual values among university students.
