Imam Ali Holy Shrine Honors 4,000 Veiled Female University Students at the “My Hijab” Festival

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine held the fifth edition of the “My Hijab” Festival with the aim of honoring 4,000 veiled female university students in recognition of their commitment to modesty and religious values.

The festival ceremony was attended by the custodian of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine and his deputy, members of the Board of Directors, a number of presidents and officials of universities in the holy province of Najaf, university professors, and heads of various departments.

 

In a statement to the Shrine’s News Center, the Head of the Media Department, Haidar Rahim, emphasized:

“This festival is held within the framework of the programs of the ‘Week of Modesty,’ which includes more than 40 diverse activities, among them the ‘My Hijab’ Festival. This festival represents a symbol of identity and chastity inspired by the teachings of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her). Through this festival, the Imam Ali Holy Shrine honors 4,000 veiled female university students from universities across Iraq, more than 2,000 of whom are from universities in Najaf. This year’s central ceremony is being held with the participation of 2,000 female students from various universities in the province of Najaf and 2,000 female students from universities in other Iraqi provinces. For the fifth consecutive year, the ‘My Hijab’ Festival is hosting veiled female students from nine public and private universities in Najaf, namely, the University of Kufa, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Jaber ibn Hayyan University of Medical Sciences, Al-Kafeel University, the Islamic University, Imam al-Sadiq University (peace be upon him), Imam al-Kadhim University (peace be upon him), Shaikh al-Tusi University (may his secret be sanctified), and the Free Educational College.”

 

Participating Provinces

The Head of the Media Department further noted:

“The festival also includes the participation of 2,000 female students from universities in Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriya University, Al-Nahrain University, Maysan University, and the Gulf University in the south of Basra Province, in addition to students from universities and colleges in Najaf.”

 

The fifth edition of the “My Hijab” Festival represents a valuable opportunity to honor cultural and religious identity and highlights the role of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine in strengthening the moral and spiritual values of society. Through the participation of veiled female students from across Iraq, the festival underscores commitment to the principles of chastity and modesty and reflects the authenticity of Iraq’s cultural and religious identity.
