The Women’s Dar al-Quran, affiliated with the Holy Alawi Shrine, has commenced its special program for the blessed month of Ramadan, a program that includes a series of daily complete recitations of the Holy Quran with broad participation from women of various age groups inside and outside Iraq.
The head of the Dar al-Quran, Ms. Dalal al-Tabatabai, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:
“This year’s Ramadan program has witnessed a remarkable expansion in the organization of complete Quranic recitations, such that these gatherings are no longer limited to the province of Najaf al-Ashraf but have extended to other Iraqi provinces as well as several countries around the world. These activities are conducted under the direct supervision of the Women’s Quranic Education Unit.”
She explained:
“These recitations include the central complete recitation at 1:00 p.m., the public afternoon recitation for female visitors, a special recitation for young girls and adolescents, a recitation designated for the female servants of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him), as well as virtual recitations to enable remote participation.”
Al-Tabatabai also noted:
“Among the most prominent international venues hosting women’s Quranic recitations are Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, where distinguished students of the Women’s Dar al-Quran have undertaken the organization of these recitations, reflecting the dignified and honorable presence of Iraqi women on the global stage.”
She added:
“Throughout the blessed month, the Dar al-Quran of the Shrine continues to hold specialized courses in virtual Quran memorization, Quranic sciences, the rules of recitation, and the miraculous nature of the Quran. It has also organized a series of Ramadan competitions, most notably the ‘Lady Fiddah’ competition dedicated to the female servants of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). This competition includes diverse questions covering various fields of the Holy Quran through an electronic link. A memorization and exegesis competition on Surah al-Bayyinah and another competition on the exegesis of Surah al-Kahf are also among the programs.”
It is worth noting that this program is implemented in line with the continued emphasis on the educational and formative mission of the Women’s Dar al-Qur’an, a mission that, through Qur’anic initiatives and projects, provides opportunities for the active participation of women and girls both inside and outside Iraq.
