Implementation of the “Alawi Youth” Educational and Developmental Program by the Imam Ali Holy Shrine

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine has launched the “Alawi Youth” program, aimed at strengthening the identity of young adolescents and fostering the development of their abilities.

The Muhsin Children’s Cultural Center, affiliated with the Alawi Educational Authority, announced the commencement of a continuous educational initiative designed to build upon the achievements of previous courses and to transform them from periodic activities into an organized and sustainable process that accompanies adolescents throughout the year.

Strengthening Religious and Ethical Identity

Dr. Murtadha al-Khuzai, Executive Director of the Alawi Youth Program, told the Shrine’s News Center:

“The new program represents an advanced stage of the camps previously organized by the Imam Ali Holy Shrine. These camps focus on shaping the identity of adolescents—intellectually, physically, and psychologically—and on reinforcing religious and ethical values among those aged 12 to 17.”

Structured Activities

Al-Khuzai added:

“This program has been introduced to ensure continuity of educational impact and to shift the experience from a seasonal event to a lasting educational process.”

He explained that the program includes a set of structured activities, the most notable of which are
Practical training workshops designed to strengthen personal and leadership skills;
Developmental lectures aimed at enhancing positive thinking and proper conduct;
Sports activities to promote physical fitness and discipline.

Comprehensive Programming

He further stated:

“All these activities are held twice a week, providing an environment that maintains the adolescents’ connection with the program and deepens its educational effect.
The program is also designed to activate the outcomes of previous camps and to place them within a practical and sustainable framework—allowing young participants to apply what they have learned in their daily lives while continuing to develop their skills.”

A Pathway to Lasting Educational Transformation

The Executive Director continued:

“This project is not designed as a short-term experience; rather, it follows an accumulative and purposeful approach that, through ongoing engagement and follow-up, seeks to create genuine transformation and become a comprehensive path for advancement.”

This initiative—an essential part of the “Alawi Youth” program—constitutes a significant milestone in achieving the educational objectives of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine. By focusing on identity-building and sustained development, it represents a meaningful step toward preparing the emerging generation to fulfill a valuable role within society.
