Initiatives of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine in Organizing Last Year’s Celebration of Devotion

Last year, coinciding with the blessed birth anniversary of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), the Imam Ali Holy Shrine organized the largest coming-of-age ceremony for Iraqi girls as part of the eleventh edition of the “Week of Hijab.” The celebration commenced in the Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her) Pavilion in Najaf, and its reverberations extended to thirteen other provinces across Iraq.

In this event, three thousand Iraqi girls donned the crown of servitude before the illuminated sanctuary of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, while more than fourteen thousand participants across Iraq took part in ceremonies held throughout the country. From Basra to Mosul, and from Baghdad to Sulaymaniyah, families witnessed the blossoming of a new generation of modest and devout young women.

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine bestowed blessed gifts upon the participants, thereby imparting permanence to this spiritual milestone. The purpose of this initiative was to reinforce religious and moral values and to deepen the participants’ connection to their sacred identity, cultivating a conscious and committed generation for the future.
