Quran-Focused Programs of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine continues to implement a wide range of strategic programs aimed at advancing and strengthening Quranic culture.

The Dar al-Quran of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine is actively expanding its cultural, specialized, and community-oriented Quranic initiatives.

As part of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, the Dar al-Quran Unit organizes a comprehensive series of programs, examinations, seminars, and specialized and social sessions designed to promote education, reflection, and Quranic understanding, with the overarching objective of enhancing Quranic culture and encouraging contemplation of the luminous verses.

Specialized Programs and Examinations

Ala Muhsin, head of the Dar al-Quran Unit, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:

“This educational program aims to elevate the academic and practical proficiency of Quran memorizers while accelerating the development of memorization and recitation skills. The Quran Memorization Unit organized periodic examinations specifically designed to evaluate memorization quality and mastery of the rules of Tajwid. These examinations, supervised by a panel of specialists, assessed accuracy of memorization, correctness of recitation, and proper application of Tajwid rulings during recitation.”

Examination for the ‘Imam al-Muttaqin’ Group

He added:

“An additional Quranic examination was held for the ‘Imam al-Muttaqin’ group, which is composed of Pakistani university students studying in Najaf al-Ashraf.
This examination evaluated recitation skills in the areas of vocal imitation and tonal reproduction, under the supervision of a specialized committee. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the Dar al-Quran to cultivate Quranic skills and support emerging talents.”

Community and Home-Based Programs for Recitation and Reflection

Mohsen also highlighted the continuation of efforts to broaden Quranic culture across various segments of society, stating:

“With the support of the Imam Ali (peace be upon him) Holy Shrine and under the supervision of the Dar al-Quran staff, a scholarly Quranic session was held in the province of Babil, in the Hamza al-Gharbi district, in cooperation with the Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her) Husayniyah. The session, titled ‘Ethical Insights in Surah al-Hujurat,’ featured a lecture by Shaykh Ahmad al-Kandi, followed by a recitation of select verses from the Noble Quran by the reciter Sayyid Ahmad al-Zamili.”

He concluded by noting that the unit regularly organizes home-based Quran recitation gatherings through its special program, Quranic Session in the Homes of Students.
