The Alawi Holy Shrine Hosts Mourning Processions for Lady Fatimah’s Martyrdom Anniversary

Mourning processions arrived at the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her).

According to the Central News Unit of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, the city of Najaf al-Ashraf and the Imam Ali Holy Shrine welcomed mourning processions from various provinces of Iraq during these days of commemoration. These processions entered the sacred city to offer condolences to the Commander of the Faithful, Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him), and to honor this solemn occasion.

Mustafa al-Fatlawi, spokesperson for the Security Department, stated in an interview with the News Center:

“The Hussaini and Social Processions Unit of this department began receiving the processions on 21 November, and this will continue until 28 November. A large number of pilgrims have arrived in Najaf to commemorate this significant occasion.”

Al-Fatlawi explained:

“The Security Department has mobilized all its capabilities to ensure the safety of pilgrims and to provide the highest level of service to the mourners. These measures include security arrangements, on-ground organization, logistical support, and service provisions, ensuring that mourning ceremonies proceed smoothly, with ease of entry for processions and unobstructed movement for pilgrims within the vicinity of the Holy Shrine. The Lost-and-Found Guidance Unit is also providing its services through the deployment of guidance personnel around the Holy Shrine, offering free calls to individuals who are separated from their groups, and handling all cases of missing persons that may occur during the visitation.”

It is noteworthy that, according to the third and final narrated date of her martyrdom, the anniversary of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her) consistently witnesses a large influx of pilgrims and mourning processions who come to extend their condolences and express solidarity at the sanctuary of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).
