In its efforts to provide the best possible services to the people of Najaf al-Ashraf, the Imam Ali Holy Shrine has initiated an environmental campaign under the slogan “We Plant Out of Love for Ali.” This campaign, through the planting of thousands of trees, seeks to expand green spaces and create a healthy and sustainable environment across various neighborhoods of the city.
Ahmad al-Zurkani, Director of the Qanbar Center for Honorary Servants of the Holy Shrine, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“This campaign encompasses all residential areas of Najaf al-Ashraf, and by distributing saplings and trees to families, it strengthens the spirit of social participation in maintaining a clean environment. The objectives of this initiative include increasing vegetation cover, enhancing the beauty of the city’s streets, and reducing pollution—goals whose positive impact will be reflected in public health and the quality of life of the city’s residents.”
Al-Zurkani further explained:
“The campaign includes the distribution of 15,000 saplings of the Albizia and Acacia species. The efforts and ongoing activities of the Holy Shrine’s teams continue to support this important environmental initiative.”
The Imam Ali Holy Shrine has called upon all residents of Najaf al-Ashraf to participate actively in this campaign, noting that this initiative will have long-term positive effects on the city and its inhabitants.
