Imam Ali Holy Shrine Designs a New Selection Method for Honoring Participants in the “My Hijab” Festival

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine has developed a new mechanism for selecting distinguished university students participating in the “My Hijab” Festival, held as part of the activities of the Week of Hijab.

The Holy Shrine has approved a detailed institutional framework for selecting outstanding students in the fifth edition of the “My Hijab” Festival. This process is coordinated through academic departments across the governorate of Najaf al-Ashraf.

Jafar al-Badiri, Administrative Deputy of the Media Department, stated to the Shrine’s News Center:

“The selection process begins through formal communication with universities, which is carried out by delegations dispatched by the Holy Shrine, along with official letters inviting academic institutions to participate. This year, special attention has been given to first-year students, as this stage marks their entry into the university environment and plays an essential role in reinforcing commitment to conduct that reflects a chaste and dignified identity.”

Al-Badiri explained:

“The primary condition for participation is that the student consistently and regularly wears hijab within the university campus. This program includes coordination with all public and private universities and colleges in Najaf al-Ashraf, totaling nine academic institutions. In addition, plans are underway to visit al-Mustansiriyah University, the University of Basra, the University of Maysan, and al-Nahrain University as part of the outreach efforts of the coordination team.”

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine is currently preparing for the fifth edition of the “My Hijab” Festival within the framework of the Week of Hijab, a program consisting of more than twenty-one diverse activities held in celebration of the blessed birth anniversary of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her).
This festival reflects the Shrine’s ongoing commitment to promoting values such as modesty, responsibility, and the strengthening of faith-based identity across university environments and within the broader community of women.
