As part of the commemoration of this auspicious occasion, the Imam Ali Holy Shrine launched a comprehensive service plan aimed at welcoming and supporting pilgrims traveling toward the holy city of Karbala. The initiative was implemented in celebration of the birth anniversary of the Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his noble reappearance).
Service Coordination
Karrar Shakir, Head of the Internal Relations Section at the Shrine’s News Center, stated:
“The Public Relations Department, in coordination with the Pilgrims’ Guesthouse, the Transportation Department, and the Media Department, has begun implementing the service plan prepared for this blessed occasion. This effort forms part of the Shrine’s ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of care and service to pilgrims, particularly during major religious events.”
Provision of Essential Supplies
He explained that the Guesthouse Department prepared more than 1,000 cakes and 1,000 juice packs, in addition to supplying over 500 cartons of purified drinking water produced by the Imam Ali Holy Shrine’s Spring Water Factory. These provisions were made available on the first day and throughout the pilgrimage route to meet pilgrims’ essential needs.
Distribution to Service Mawkibs
Shakir added that service teams from the Internal Relations Department began assisting pilgrims at Pillar 96 at the Imam Ali Holy Shrine’s mawkib and continued their efforts through to the Khan al-Nus area along the Najaf–Karbala route. Furthermore, hospitality supplies were distributed among Hussaini service mawkibs stationed along the route.
Joint Operations Room
He noted that these activities are being carried out through coordination within a joint operations room comprising the Imam Ali Holy Shrine and the Najaf Governorate. Service efforts will continue throughout the duration of the pilgrimage in order to ensure uninterrupted support and to ease the journey for pilgrims.
