According to the Central News Unit of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, the holy sanctuary served as the venue for a grand graduation ceremony honoring students of the Islamic University, along with students from a number of Iraqi universities, for the academic year 2025–2026.
Held in the luminous presence of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him), the ceremony featured the graduates’ recitation of an oath of chastity and loyalty. Attended by families and members of academic staff, the event presented a lasting image of the profound connection between knowledge, faith, and responsibility.
Dr. Ammar Al-Salami, President of the Islamic University in Najaf al-Ashraf, expressed his satisfaction with the organization of the ceremony, stating:
“Such ceremonies symbolize the advancement of students’ scientific and social standing and reflect the respect accorded to their position within society.”
He further expressed his appreciation to the custodianship of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine and all those involved in organizing the event, emphasizing the Shrine’s role in strengthening the morale and motivation of outstanding graduates.
Dr. Najeh Al-Ramahi, Head of the English Language Department at the College of Education of the Central Islamic University, noted the participation of more than 3,500 students from the universities of Najaf, Hilla, and Diwaniyah, saying:
“Students of these universities have been nurtured in a sound scientific and religious environment, enabling them to play an effective role in building a dynamic, cohesive, and influential society in Iraq.”
He also praised the meticulous coordination and exemplary organization demonstrated by the Imam Ali Holy Shrine in hosting the ceremony.
Dr. Jabbar Al-Sultani, Head of the English Language Department at the Diwaniyah branch of the Islamic University, stated that the ceremony has been held for the third consecutive year within the precincts of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, noting:
“This event reaffirms loyalty to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and draws inspiration from the noble conduct and values of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him)—values that play a fundamental role in strengthening ethics, courage, and human principles in future generations.”
He also expressed gratitude for the Shrine’s support in hosting the students and creating an atmosphere of joy and pride.
Dr. Helen Mohammed Abdul-Hussein, Associate Professor and Head of the Geography Department at the College of Education for Women, University of Kufa, congratulated the graduating students and wished them continued success, extending her thanks to the administration of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine for its excellent organization and generous support.
Dr. Haider Ibrahim Ali, Head of the Anesthesia Department at the Higher Institute of Health, commended the Imam Ali Holy Shrine for organizing a distinguished ceremony for the ninth graduating class of the institute, highlighting the high level of order, execution quality, and the spiritual atmosphere that characterized the sacred venue.
Zuhair Fadel Al-Zirjawi, a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering at the Islamic University of Diwaniyah, stated:
“We dedicate our success and graduation celebration to our Master, Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance), and we extend our sincere thanks to the Imam Ali Holy Shrine for its extensive efforts in hosting graduates from across the provinces.”
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of piligrimage supplications, the formal graduation oath, the capturing of commemorative photographs with professors, and the distribution of blessed gifts and flowers—an occasion that beautifully portrayed joy, pride in academic achievement, and the fulfillment of success in the sacred presence of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).
