The event brought together 60 artists from 14 countries, representing diverse cultures. Inspired by the status of the Holy Alawi Shrine as a global center for committed art and drawing upon its profound spiritual significance, the gathering employed visual arts as a means of conveying shared human values and universal messages across nations.
This international gathering featured a rich and varied collection of artworks, including contemporary designs, classical and digital paintings, and calligraphic works. Within a space where languages and cultures from around the world converged, the artworks reflected a unified message of the nations awaiting Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his noble reappearance).
In a statement to the Shrine’s News Center, Sayed Kadhim al-Khirsan, Director of the Imam al-Hasan (peace be upon him) Center for Specialized Studies, emphasized that the exhibition carries a universal message addressed to diverse cultures and embodies the unity of the nations awaiting Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his noble reappearance). He noted that it presents a shared human vision that introduces the concept of expectation as a spiritual value transcending borders.
Dr. Abd al-Hadi al-Ibrahimi, Head of the Department of Antiquities and Heritage at the Holy Alawi Shrine, highlighted the importance of art as a tool for communication and shared emotional experience among cultures, praising the role of religion in guiding artists toward the deeper meanings of art. He added that the event contributes to strengthening the global image of Islamic art and opens new avenues for engagement with the wider world.
The President of the Qaf Art and Media Foundation explained that the participating artists in this artistic forum serve as cultural representatives of their countries and come from diverse religious backgrounds. He noted that a number of them were visiting Iraq and Najaf al-Ashraf for the first time, including artists from China and Brazil, reflecting the truly global presence of the event and the inclusiveness of its cultural message.
The message of this international event was expressed through “The Philosophy of Expectation” in a creative spirit, reflecting the cultural radiance of the Holy Alawi Shrine and its role in consolidating committed art and strengthening bridges of cultural communication among the nations of the world.
