The Holy Shrine of Amir Al-Muminin Holds the “Alawi Youth” Religious Maturity Ceremony

The Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) strengthened its educational role in nurturing the younger generation by holding the “Alawi Youth” religious maturity ceremony.

The Holy Alawi Shrine maintains its educational mission by providing adolescent care through its third “Alawi Youth” celebration of religious obligation.

The program took place with over 2700 students from 40 schools throughout Najaf al-Ashraf participating to build religious and moral values among students while strengthening their bond with their religious and cultural heritage.

An Educational Program

In an interview with the Shrine’s News Center, Wissam Iskandar, Head of the al-Nathm Center of the Strategic Planning and Development Unit at the Shrine, stated:

“This program represents an important educational stage for students at the age of religious obligation, and it is held with the aim of strengthening religious values in their hearts and reinforcing their connection to the Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). In addition, this program has been designed with the goal of cultivating a sense of responsibility and conscious behavior consistent with Islamic teachings.”

Full Coordination

Karrar al-Mousawi, Head of the Internal Relations Section in the Public Relations Department, explained:

“This program is the result of joint cooperation with the al-Nathm Center, as well as coordination with the Najaf Education Directorate and school administrations. The organizational efforts involved the participation of several supporting sections of the Holy Alawi Shrine, including the Deputy Custodian of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, the Information Section, Security, Servants’ Affairs, Pilgrims’ Guest House, Equipment Section, Investment Board, and the Shrine Decoration Unit, all of which played a role in the success of this ceremony and its execution in the best possible manner.”

Strengthening Hope and Identity in Students

While expressing his gratitude to the Holy Alawi Shrine and the organizers, Professor Amir al-Isawi, Principal of the “Buqa al-Mubarakah” School noted:

“This program, especially for intensive education schools where some students had to leave school for various reasons, provided an opportunity to participate in the religious obligation ceremony. This revived hope in their hearts and created a spiritual motivation for them to continue their educational path.”

Additionally, Professor Waseem Sahib, Principal of the “Amir Muthanna Al-Hatam” High School, noted:

“This religious obligation celebration strengthens the religious and cultural aspects of students and protects them when facing contemporary challenges. The continuity of such activities has a clear and positive impact on the students’ behavior and their sense of belonging.”

This program is a manifestation of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s vision in educational investment for the adolescent generation and, through initiatives based on cooperation with educational institutions, plays a role in nurturing a generation that is aware, committed, and adherent to authentic values and principles.
