The Shrine Committee for Supporting Needy Families initiated their annual Ramadan food basket distribution campaign at the beginning of the holy month to support low-income families throughout the holy province of Najaf al-Ashraf.
Ahmed al-Najm, head of this committee, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center that his organization had distributed more than 2500 food baskets to eligible families through its regular field program which covers all main distribution areas to ensure that genuine beneficiaries received assistance.
He emphasized that the campaign would last ten days while field teams work in low-income areas to provide food packages directly to families which maintains the Holy Alawi Shrine’s ongoing humanitarian work from past years.
The Holy Alawi Shrine conducts this initiative to enhance social solidarity while providing essential assistance to low-income families who require support during Ramadan. The program helps needy families through Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) teaching which helps them handle their daily living costs.
