The Department of Service Affairs at the Holy Alawi Shrine announced the launch of an extensive service plan specifically for the holy month of Ramadan. This plan has been prepared with the aim of providing the best services to the noble visitors, coinciding with the increase in their numbers for the revival of the blessed nights of Ramadan.
Early Preparedness
Mr. Zaid Karim from the Department of Service Affairs stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:
“A comprehensive service program has been developed to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.”
Referring to the full mobilization of all service divisions and units, he added:
“At the forefront of these measures is the Service Machinery Division, which has begun positioning its equipment around the holy Alawi courtyard based on precise calculations of the spaces. This ensures complete environmental coverage, guaranteeing smooth visitor flow and continuous cleaning.”
He continued:
“The Visitor Services Division has finalized the calculation of the required amount of carpeting, covering all new areas following the expansion of the Alawi shrine. Accordingly, approximately 35,000 square meters of the expanded area will be carpeted to accommodate the millions of visitors.”
Preparation of the Visitors’ City
He also announced the opening of seven large halls for visitor accommodation in the Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him) Visitors’ City. This measure is being taken to provide a safe and tranquil environment for visitors, coinciding with the pilgrimage for the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hasan (peace be upon him), the anniversary of the martyrdom of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him), and the observance of the Laylat al-Qadr rituals.
Integrated Services
He explained that the project would establish drinking water fountains throughout the Holy Alawi Courtyard area while building stations to distribute bottled water and setting up mobile sanitary facilities and creating various support services which will include equipment and logistics to enhance visitor comfort during Ramadan.
The Alawi Holy Shrine uses these preparation activities to deliver its best services to visitors through its planned approach which combines early planning with quick response capacity to create optimal visitor readiness and organizational standards for visitor reception.
