The program includes the organization of daily and weekly iftar banquets for pilgrims, as well as the coordination of iftar tables in Najaf al-Ashraf Province and other Iraqi provinces, encompassing various segments of society.
Atheer al-Tamimi, Head of the Guesthouse Department of the Holy Shrine, stated in an interview with the Media Center,
“This program is carried out under the direct guidance and supervision of the Deputy Custodian of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, and its first iftar banquet was held today, Friday, in the courtyard of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), adjacent to the holy Alawi shrine.”
He added,
“The weekly iftar banquet is organized to host the pilgrims of the shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). In addition, the daily hospitality program is conducted through the electronic reservation system and the guesthouse card distribution centers, as well as mobile teams stationed within and outside the perimeter of the Holy Alawi Shrine.”
Al-Tamimi further stated,
“The Ramadan iftar program will include elderly care centers, charitable institutions, and a number of socially vulnerable groups in several Iraqi provinces, in addition to students. These initiatives fall within the framework of the social support efforts that the Holy Alawi Shrine consistently prioritizes during the blessed month of Ramadan.”
The Pilgrims’ Guesthouse Department continues to distribute iftar meals to less privileged people and low-income families living in the poor communities. Along with the distribution of iftar meals, they are also committed to the care and support of thousands of orphan children and those in need, who are being cared for by those who are determined to serve one another as part of the continuing Ramadan Program with thousands of orphans and individuals in need. These efforts are aligned with a spirit of generosity, solidarity, and social responsibility, so that the Holy Alawi Shrine continues, as well as the continuation of the humanitarian mission to serve pilgrims and the community overall.
