Comprehensive Service Plan of the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin During the Holy Month of Ramadan

The Service Affairs Department of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) has prepared extensive services for pilgrims on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).

The Service Affairs Department of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) has commenced the implementation of a comprehensive and wide-reaching program coinciding with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) and the days of the holy month of Ramadan, to accommodate the vast number of pilgrims visiting the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali and to provide them with the best services.

In an interview with the Holy Shrine’s Media Center, Zaid al-Khirsan, the official in charge of the Service Affairs Department, stated:

“The personnel of this department have begun providing extensive field services around the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali and the streets leading to it.”

He added:

“This program includes the deployment of shoe-storage units around the courtyard of the Holy Shrine with a capacity for approximately 7,000 people and 6,000 points for providing services to pilgrims via the cloakrooms.”

Al-Khirsan also mentioned:

“The program further includes the operation of 8 water distribution stations at various points around the courtyard of the Holy Shrine and the installation of 8 waste containers to strengthen the public cleanliness of the pilgrimage areas.”

He explained, “The Service Affairs Department has provided a significant number of specialized vehicles and equipment to serve the pilgrims, including 8 street sweepers, 20 polishing machines, 10 trucks, and 10 internal transport vehicles; as such, the total active equipment of this department, including street sweepers, trucks, and service vehicles, amounts to approximately 70 units operating around the clock.”

The head of the Service Affairs Department added, “Our personnel have laid more than 341,000 square meters of carpets in various locations for the pilgrims’ rest and have provided 15,000 copies of the Holy Quran and 10,000 copies of pilgrimage books for the benefit of the pilgrims to create a suitable devotional atmosphere during the days of Ramadan.”

Al-Khirsan also announced:

“Health services include 16 fixed stations and 8 mobile stations in various areas, including the entrance to the Old City, the al-Ghadir rest area, and the Central Square, to ensure easy access to healthcare services for pilgrims. Furthermore, two canopies have been installed on al-Hamami Street near the old guest house, which are carpeted and ready to provide services.”

Finally, he emphasized that these measures are part of the comprehensive service plan of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), designed with the aim of providing a suitable and peaceful environment for pilgrims, in alignment with the sanctity of this special occasion.
