The Dar al-Quran Department of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine organized a Quranic completion gathering in Baghdad as part of the National Quranic Initiative.

The Dar al-Quran Unit, affiliated with the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the shrine, held the gathering in cooperation with the Union of Quran Reciters in the Iraqi capital. The event was conducted within the framework of the eleventh national initiative and was attended by a number of distinguished university reciters. The program aimed to strengthen and promote Quranic culture among young people.

The head of the Dar al-Quran Department, Ala Muhsin, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:

“This Quranic completion gathering is part of the national program of Quranic recitation gatherings currently being implemented in several provinces of Iraq.”

He added that during the blessed month of Ramadan, several Quranic completion gatherings have been organized in Baghdad with the participation of both local and international reciters. According to him, these programs include not only the recitation of the Holy Quran but also the interpretation of Quranic verses, Quranic competitions, and the presentation of encouraging awards to participants.

For his part, the head of the Union of Quran Reciters in the Karkh district, Muhammad Al‑Saray, expressed appreciation for the role of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine in supporting young reciters and serving Iraqi society.
He explained:

“So far, seven Quranic completion gatherings have been held across the Karkh and Rusafa districts, where reciters created a distinctive spiritual atmosphere through their beautiful recitations.”

He further noted that these competitions are organized in Iraqi universities in order to identify and support emerging Quranic talents among the youth.

It is noteworthy that the initiative covers fifteen provinces across Iraq and includes the organization of sixty Quranic completion gatherings in total. Thirty of these gatherings are scheduled to take place in the southern provinces. The program is implemented as part of a comprehensive initiative by the Dar al-Quran Department of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, aimed at expanding the Quranic atmosphere and strengthening engagement with the Book of God throughout the provinces of Iraq.
