The flower exhibition, held in the Teachers’ Neighborhood Park in the heart of Najaf al-Ashraf, was organized with the active participation of the Investment Board of the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). This initiative aims to revitalize abandoned spaces and transform them into urban recreational environments to serve the residents of the city.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of Najaf al-Ashraf, Mr. Mustafa Mahdi Munni (Member of the Board of Directors of the Holy Shrine), Mr. Sahib al-Basaysi (Head of the Public Relations Department), and a group of official and social dignitaries.
Mr. Laith Tuwaij, Director of the Office of the Head of the Investment Board, stated to the shrine’s News Center:
“The flower festival commenced this morning at the Teachers’ Neighborhood Park. This program is part of the Holy Shrine’s active contribution to environmental protection and the aesthetic enhancement of Najaf al-Ashraf.”
He explained that the park had been in a state of neglect for many years. However, through the dedicated efforts of the Holy Shrine’s personnel, it has been completely renovated and modernized. It is now open to the public with a new appearance that combines beauty and structural order.
He added:
“Today, this park has been transformed into a vibrant ‘urban lung’ and a destination for visitors and residents alike. It stands as a prominent urban landmark, highlighting the Holy Shrine’s commitment to improving the environment and adding aesthetic value to the neighborhoods of Najaf al-Ashraf.”
