As part of its diverse cultural initiatives at the Baghdad International Book Fair 2025, the pavilion of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine featured a dedicated section for children and youth organized by the al-Muhsin Center, an affiliate of the Alawi Educational Authority. The center designed and delivered a set of educational and intellectual programs tailored to young audiences.
A robotics-operated science and technology competition
Shubbar al-Tabatabai, program supervisor, explained to the Shrine’s News Center:
“This program has been specially developed for children aged 5 to 15. It comprised a range of cultural and educational activities, including a knowledge competition where participants who answered correctly received precious gifts blessed by the shrine of Amir al-Muminin. The contest questions appeared on high-resolution displays and were administered by a smart robot developed by the Shrine’s engineering and technical teams.”
The Fahim Laboratory: Introducing Children to Scientific Experiments
Al-Tabatabai continued:
“Alongside this section, we launched the ‘Fahim Laboratory,’ a science corner that offered children interactive experiments. The Publications Unit of the al-Muhsin Center distilled the school lessons into an experimental format to engage young minds, encourage curiosity, and foster active participation. The laboratory activities let children experience several simple yet captivating scientific experiments.”
Educational animations focused on science and culture
He added:
“The program also screened a collection of educational cartoons with scientific and cultural themes, produced by the al-Muhsin Center’s Artistic Production Unit. On the other hand, these visual materials enriched the intellectual and scientific awareness of the youngest.”
It is noteworthy that the Imam Ali Holy Shrine took part in the Baghdad International Book Fair 2025 with a prominent pavilion and broad participation from its various departments. In fact, it includes Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, Media, Information Technology, Public Relations, Engineering and Technical Affairs, the al-Muhsin Center, and other supporting units.
