With the support of the Holy Alawi Shrine, the fifteenth annual conference of religious preachers began, held within the framework of the seminary’s publicity program for the Arbaeen season, under the slogan: “Our mission is guidance, and our method is that God’s guidance alone is the true guidance.”
The conference was held with the attendance of the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, Sayyid Eissa al-Khirsan, representatives of the offices of the Grand Sources of Emulation, a number of seminary scholars and professors, and a large number of religious preachers, in the Mohsen Hall located in the courtyard of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her).
The Head of the Religious Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, Shaikh Karrar al-Khafaji, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“This conference is held in preparation for the implementation of the special publicity program for the Arbaeen Hussaini ceremonies, and according to this program, propagation stations for delivering religious guidance and answering religious inquiries will be established along the routes leading to holy Karbala for a period of ten days.”
He added:
“Nearly four thousand male and female preachers are attending this conference, which is being held over three days, with the aim of expanding religious awareness and culture, as well as strengthening the values of service and faith during the days of Arbaeen.”
Sayyid Ahmad al-Safi, one of the seminary’s professors, said in his address: “Religious propagation has its own particular pillars and characteristics and is counted among the greatest responsibilities, for the divine prophets were sent to convey God’s messages, out of fear and reverence for Him. The verses of the Holy Quran have likewise clarified the station of preachers; a preacher conveys the message of God and attributes what he says to God Almighty, and this is a station that no one may claim for themselves.”
He added:
“Imam al-Sajjad (peace be upon him), when he arrived in Damascus following the events of Ashura, spoke words that no one was able to deny or claim that he had wrongly attributed to himself. Therefore, the preacher must have thorough knowledge of the community to whom he wishes to explain the divine rulings, for we are not separate from the people.”
This conference, which continues for three days, is held with the aim of strengthening bonds of cooperation and synergy with the Islamic Seminary, and reinforcing the publicity and service roles of the seminary in serving pilgrims and reviving the Hussaini rites.
The Holy Alawi Shrine has likewise mobilized all of its service and support capacities to back the publicity, Quranic, and doctrinal programs during the days of Arbaeen Hussaini, and alongside this, is also implementing comprehensive plans for serving pilgrims to the shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).
