During the days of the al-Hussaini Arbaeen, the courtyard of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her) at the Holy Alawi Shrine offers pilgrims a range of welfare, health, and support services around the clock, ensuring suitable conditions to welcome the millions of pilgrims visiting the sacred shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).
The deputy head of the Services Affairs Department, Mahdi Saleh Mahdi, told the Shrine’s News Center regarding these efforts:
“The staff of this department have drawn on all of their capacities to carry out a dedicated service program for Arbaeen. Under this plan, 35 servants and 50 volunteer servants work in shifts around the clock, ensuring that services to pilgrims continue without interruption.”
He added:
“For the lodging, rest, and worship of pilgrims, halls and a courtyard area totaling 10,000 square meters have been furnished, providing a suitable space to accommodate pilgrims.”
He also stated:
“In the courtyard of Lady Zahra (peace be upon her), 50 water coolers across three levels, 1,300 fully equipped sanitation units, four dedicated drinking water stations, and fixed water fountains at various points throughout the courtyard have all been arranged to serve pilgrims.”
The deputy head of the Services Affairs Department continued:
“4,000 bottles of drinking water and 1,000 blocks of ice are distributed daily to meet the needs of pilgrims, particularly amid the heat, and this continues throughout the days of Arbaeen.”
Regarding sanitation services, he said:
“Two laundry facilities, operating separately for women and men, run around the clock and have the capacity to wash approximately 4,000 pieces of clothing daily — an effort that plays an important role in meeting the basic needs of pilgrims and enhancing their comfort throughout the pilgrimage.”
These services are provided as part of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s comprehensive program for welcoming the millions of al-Hussaini Arbaeen pilgrims — a program drawn up and carried out by drawing on all available service, support, and sanitation resources, with the aim of providing the best possible services to pilgrims at the sacred shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).
