The Women’s Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, by deploying volunteer women servants, is supporting the comprehensive service and organizational program for the days of Arbaeen at various centers affiliated with the Shrine—an initiative aimed at facilitating the movement of pilgrims, maintaining order, and providing worthy services to women pilgrims throughout the days of Arbaeen.
Widespread Presence in the Field
Under this program, approximately 500 volunteer women servants are participating in various field assignments, including administrative, service, and support duties. These personnel have been stationed at service centers affiliated with the Holy Alawi Shrine and around the Holy Alawi Shrine itself, playing a role in organizing the movement of pilgrims, facilitating entry and exit, and supporting field activities in line with the significant increase in the number of pilgrims.
Round-the-Clock Service
The volunteer women servants work in shifts under a structured schedule, providing services around the clock. Specialized committees from the Volunteer Center, along with supervisory staff, oversee their activities to ensure that services are delivered in an orderly and coordinated manner.
Ramla al-Khuzai, head of the Women’s Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, stated:
“The volunteer women servants are among the most important pillars in carrying out the service and organizational program for the days of Arbaeen, and through their effective presence, they play a significant role in serving the pilgrims.”
She added:
“To ensure suitable conditions for service, the Holy Alawi Shrine has provided these women with facilities such as lodging and rest areas, meals, medical care from specialized staff, as well as transportation services, enabling them to carry out their duties with the highest quality throughout the days of Arbaeen.”
Honoring Outstanding Servants
Al-Khuzai also announced that the Women’s Affairs Department has developed a program to evaluate the performance of the volunteer women servants and participating volunteer groups—a program aimed at promoting a culture of initiative, improving the quality of service, and strengthening the spirit of sacrifice and dedication to service.
As part of this program, one of the selected volunteer groups, along with a number of volunteer women servants who demonstrated outstanding performance in their duties, was honored. Additionally, at the conclusion of the Arbaeen service season, the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine will hold a special ceremony to honor all participating groups and express appreciation for their efforts in serving the pilgrims of the shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).
