The Machinery Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine carried out a comprehensive plan to support the successful delivery of services to pilgrims who traveled to Samarra for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him). The plan included providing transport vehicles for moving pilgrims, as well as support service machinery, and was carried out to support the services offered by the Holy Askari Shrine.
Transporting and Hosting Pilgrims
Sabah al-Tarafi, head of the Machinery Unit, told the News Center:
“By order of the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, this department developed a plan well in advance to support the services provided to pilgrims in Samarra, and it was carried out in several stages. In the first stage, a fleet of specialized heavy machinery was allocated to transport the equipment and supplies of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s mobile guesthouse, along with other logistical materials, including vehicles carrying drinking water and ice for distribution among the Mawakib and delegations. Support service machinery, including mobile sanitation units, was also transferred to Samarra to serve pilgrims along the routes leading to the Shrine of the Two Askari Imams (peace be upon them).”
Transporting Servants to Samarra
Al-Tarafi added:
“In the second stage, special buses were prepared to transport the servants of the Holy Alawi Shrine, who had been dispatched from various departments of the shrine in the form of a Mawkib, to support the services provided by the Holy Askari Shrine.”
He continued:
“This department also coordinated to transport groups of servants and volunteers dispatched from various delegations and institutions to the Holy Askari Shrine, and, once their mission was complete, was responsible for returning and transporting them back to their respective provinces. This helped organize the movement of the dispatched personnel and facilitated their participation in serving pilgrims.”
