The Women’s Education Department, affiliated with the Religious Affairs Unit of the Holy Alawi Shrine, held a religious and cultural gathering to mark the anniversary of the beginning of Imam al-Mahdi’s (may God hasten his reappearance) imamate. The gathering was held as part of a series of programs aimed at reinforcing and spreading Mahdawi culture.
Sundus Reza, the department’s head, told the News Center:
“This gathering included an in-person competition on the biography of the infallible Imams (peace be upon them), designed to increase religious awareness and knowledge in an interactive and engaging format. A number of religious hymns were also performed to mark this blessed occasion.”
It is worth noting that the anniversary of the beginning of Imam al-Mahdi’s (may God hasten his reappearance) imamate is a blessed occasion on which believers honor the memory of their Imam and renew their covenant and loyalty to him.
