Imam Ali Holy Shrine Participates in the Najaf Flower Festival

For the second consecutive year, the Imam Ali Holy Shrine took part in the Najaf Flower Festival, held in the gardens of the Palace of Culture and Development in Najaf al-Ashraf.

Active Participation and Excellence

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine, which won first place in the previous edition of the festival, once again demonstrated its excellence through a captivating display of rare plants, shade- and sun-loving varieties, seasonal blooms, and ornamental species imported from renowned international centers. The Shrine also showcased products of the Fadak Plant Nursery, which operates under its supervision.

A Diverse Botanical Display

Engineer Ahmad Adnan al-Khudair, from the Shrine’s Plant Nursery Department, stated to the Shrine’s News Center:

“The Shrine’s pavilion features a diverse collection of plants such as Ficus, Dracaena, and Liplaeus, along with fertilizers, pesticides, and modern agricultural tools. We are also providing free agricultural consultations under the supervision of our specialized engineers.”

Promoting Agricultural Awareness

He added:

“Our participation in this festival aims to promote agricultural culture, environmental sustainability, and to encourage the community to pay greater attention to green spaces and natural beauty.”

Recognition and Appreciation

Mr. Ayad Jassim Jaber al-Mousawi, agricultural expert and Head of the Plant Production Department at the Najaf Directorate of Agriculture, commended the Shrine’s contribution, saying:

“The pavilion of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine stands out for meeting agricultural needs — including seedlings, fertilizers, and flowerpots — at subsidized prices. It also presents rare plant species that are not available in many local nurseries.”

In conclusion, the Shrine’s participation in the Najaf Flower Festival reflects its commitment to supporting agricultural development, protecting the environment, and serving society through the promotion of knowledge and appreciation of plant life and natural beauty.
