According to the Central News Unit of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, Khalil Abdullah Mohammed, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to Iraq, was honored with a visit to the sacred shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). He was formally received by Hassan al-Tai, Deputy Custodian of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, accompanied by the Head of the Public Relations Department.
In a statement to the Shrine’s News Center, Sahib Al-Busaisi, Head of the Public Relations Department, said:
“During the meeting, avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation and the depth of the fraternal relations linking the two brotherly countries were discussed. The meeting also addressed matters related to Lebanese pilgrims visiting the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, including the provision of facilities and services necessary to facilitate their pilgrimage—particularly during large-scale, million-visitor occasions.”
For his part, the Lebanese Ambassador expressed his pleasure that his first destination in Iraq was the city of Najaf al-Ashraf and the sacred shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him). He conveyed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception and extended his deep appreciation for the extensive efforts undertaken by the Imam Ali Holy Shrine in serving pilgrims from across the world, Islamic countries, and Lebanon in particular.
