Under the supervision of the Investment Committee, the Tailoring Unit is responsible for producing an array of black banners and embroidered inscriptions that will adorn the Golden Iwan and the main flag to be raised over the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
Mr. Haidar Abdullah, Head of the Tailoring Unit, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“Our workshop is preparing the principal mourning banners for the Golden Iwan and the central flag of the Holy Shrine, along with the black draperies to be placed throughout the sacred courtyard and the outer walls of the Shrine.”
He added:
“The unit is also working on the production of large mourning flags that will be installed at key locations across Najaf al-Ashraf, including Lady al-Zahra Bridge, Thawrat al-Ashreen Bridge, and al-Maydan Square at the entrance to the Old City.”
Every year, the Imam Ali Holy Shrine mobilizes extensive preparations to receive mourning processions and visitors on this solemn occasion, marking the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her) according to the second narration, which falls on the 13th of Jumada al-Awwal, 11 AH.
