As part of its early preparations for the Arbaeen ceremonies, the Media Department of the Alawi Holy Shrine has developed a comprehensive and integrated plan to cover this million‑plus event. The plan aims to reflect the true image of the ceremony and to showcase the full range of services provided to pilgrims through various media platforms.
Mr. Jaafar al‑Budairi, Deputy Head of the Media Department at the Alawi Holy Shrine, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:
“This media plan includes the production and broadcast of special programs via the satellite channel and radio of the Alawi Holy Shrine, which will continue for 20 days. It will follow the pilgrims’ movement from the start of the route in Basra province until their arrival in the holy city of Karbala, covering various provinces and rest stations along the pilgrim routes, as well as the Baghdad–Karbala highway. This will depict all stages of the march, the spiritual atmosphere, and the services provided along the routes leading to the ceremony.”*
He added:
“This program also follows all the activities of the Alawi Holy Shrine through the news center and the digital content production unit. In addition, media messages will be broadcast via screens installed throughout Najaf al-Ashraf province, so that this media coverage reaches the widest possible audience.”
Al‑Budairi continued:
“The Media Department has allocated a special media operations room to coordinate with media institutions, production groups, journalists, and media activists, in order to provide all the technical and logistical support needed for the live broadcast of the ceremonies from the holy shrine of Amir al‑Mu’minin (peace be upon him) and the courtyard of Lady Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her), while simultaneously providing adequate coverage of the massive presence of millions of pilgrims.”*
He emphasized:
“This plan also includes continuous live broadcasting, preparing field reports and programs, disseminating breaking news, and documenting the preparations and services provided by the Alawi Holy Shrine to the pilgrims—a measure that will reflect the magnitude of the efforts made to hold the Arbaeen ceremonies as magnificently as possible.”
It is worth noting that this comprehensive media plan has been developed and implemented in line with the Alawi Holy Shrine’s commitment to utilizing the latest media tools to convey the spiritual atmosphere of the Arbaeen ceremonies to the world, and to showcase the extensive organizational and service efforts undertaken to serve millions of pilgrims.
