On the eve of the arrival of the days of Arbaeen, the Women’s Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine has put into effect a comprehensive plan in the security, service, and operational fields to welcome women pilgrims, and by deploying all of its human and service personnel, seeks to ensure smooth movement of pilgrims and the provision of optimal services within and around the holy Alawi shrine.
Ramla Khuza’i, head of the Women’s Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, said in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:
“This plan includes a series of new measures in the area of organizing pilgrim movement within the holy Alawi shrine, among which are the increase in entrances and exits and the designation of special pathways for elderly women and emergency cases — a measure that provides them with easier access to the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) and reduces congestion during peak hours of pilgrim presence.”
She added:
“This department, in coordination with the other supporting departments of the Holy Alawi Shrine, has carried out a series of service and guidance updates, including the installation of directional signs and the use of wayfinding maps within the holy Alawi shrine, so that pilgrims can easily find their way and access the various service sections.”
Khuza’i also stated that the Women’s Affairs Department has prepared service entrances, temporary accommodation areas, and security inspection checkpoints to receive large numbers of pilgrims, and that throughout the days of Arbaeen, it will meet the needs of pilgrims by providing operational, guidance, and human services — days whose first wave of pilgrims has already begun.
