The Pilgrims’ Guesthouse Department, working under the comprehensive service plan drawn up by the shrine’s administration to receive millions of pilgrims, is providing services to visitors of the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) who are making their way to Karbala city for the Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him).
“Athir al-Tamimi,” head of the Pilgrims’ Guesthouse Department, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“This department has launched its services to Arbaeen pilgrims by setting up and equipping 16 food distribution service points in key locations.”
He added:
“The number of daily meals distributed has exceeded 100,000 portions — including the three main meals of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus snacks provided to pilgrims around the clock.”
Al-Tamimi continued: “The food distribution centers are located in the old quarter of Najaf, around the Holy Shrine, in the Imam al-Rida (peace be upon him) Pilgrims’ City which serves as a rest area for pilgrims in the al-Howli district, along the Arbaeen walking route and other main pedestrian routes, as well as at the central guesthouse situated in the Courtyard of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her). These services are being delivered with the cooperation and support of various departments of the Holy Shrine and volunteer servants.”
It’s worth noting that the Holy Alawi Shrine has long been fully mobilized across all its departments and capacities, getting everything ready to serve Arbaeen pilgrims — pilgrims who choose the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) in Najaf Al-Ashraf as one of the key stops on their journey toward Karbala Al-Mu’alla during these sacred days.
