Under the plans laid out for the Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussain, the Holy Shrine has provided the required equipment for moving pilgrims between Najaf Al-Ashraf and Karbala . This operational plan runs around the clock to ease the flow of pilgrims and enhance the level of services provided during this mega-event.
“Sajjad al-Khafaji,” head of the Pilgrimage Tourism Unit, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“As part of our special service program for Arbaeen, this unit has launched its pilgrim transfer plan between Najaf Al-Ashraf and Karbala, after completing all the technical and administrative groundwork for the transport operation.”
He added:
“For this plan, we’ve equipped 20 buses and 20 minibuses that operate around the clock in three shifts — so the transfer of pilgrims runs without interruption, traffic flows smoothly, and our dear pilgrims’ comfort is looked after.”
Al-Khafaji also noted:
“This operational plan is designed to systematically transport pilgrims from Karbala Al-Mu’alla to Najaf Al-Ashraf and provide all the necessary facilities for their safe transfer. It’s part of the Holy Shrine’s comprehensive service plan to welcome millions of Arbaeen pilgrims.”
It’s worth noting that the Holy Alawi Shrine has mobilized all its human, service, and equipment resources to implement a comprehensive plan for serving the pilgrims of Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussain. These services are specifically for pilgrims who choose the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) in Najaf Al-Ashraf as one of their key spiritual stops — and after their visit, continue on the walking route toward Karbala to take part in the grand Arbaeen ceremony.
