The Holy Alawi Shrine, through the Rasul al-Adham Medical Centre, has launched a special medical services plan for Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him), in coordination with various shrine departments and in cooperation with the Najaf Al-Ashraf Health Directorate. The plan aims to deliver health, treatment, and emergency services to pilgrims visiting the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him).
Dr. Jawad Isma’ili, head of the Rasul al-Adham Medical Centre, told the Holy Shrine’s News Center:
“Under this plan, we’ve set up five medical stations equipped with medical and service staff, equipment, medicines, and all necessary supplies to provide the best possible care to pilgrims.”
He added:
“These stations are positioned around the Holy Shrine — one at Dar al-Shifa, another at the Bab al-Shaykh al-Tusi extension (may his soul be sanctified), the third in the Courtyard of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her), the fourth at the Alawi Complex near the Hammami intersection, and the fifth at the Imam al-Rida (peace be upon him) Pilgrims’ City in the al-Howli area. All these centres have separate admission and treatment sections for men and women.”
Dr. Isma’ili also stated:
“In coordination with the Qanbar Centre for volunteer servants, we’ve brought in 335 male and female emergency responders to support the emergency evacuation unit and bolster the field emergency teams. Light and heavy ambulance vehicles have also been deployed around the Holy Shrine to speed up the transfer of patients and the injured, ensuring the highest level of medical readiness.”
He went on:
“The occupational health and safety unit is also playing a key role in organising pilgrim flow, reducing congestion, and preventing crowd-related incidents, while monitoring safety compliance at the Hussaini processions. Meanwhile, the environmental unit is checking the quality of food and drinks distributed to pilgrims to make sure they meet health standards — safeguarding pilgrims’ wellbeing and the quality of services provided.”
It’s worth noting that the Holy Alawi Shrine, with all its departments mobilised, is fully engaged in serving the pilgrims of Arbaeen of Imam al-Hussain(peace be upon him) — pilgrims who choose the Holy Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) in Najaf Al-Ashraf as one of their most important spiritual stops on the way to Karbala Al-Mu’alla for the grand Arbaeen ceremony.
