السَّلامُ عَلَىٰ وَلِيِّ اللّٰهِ وَحَبِيبِهِ، السَّلامُ عَلَىٰ خَلِيلِ اللّٰهِ وَنَجِيبِهِ، السَّلامُ عَلَىٰ صَفِيِّ اللّٰهِ وَابْنِ صَفِيِّهِ، السَّلامُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ الْمَظْلُومِ الشَّهِيدِ، السَّلامُ عَلَىٰ أَسِيرِ الْكُرُباتِ وَقَتِيلِ الْعَبَرَاتِ .
Peace be upon the chosen Guardian of God and His most beloved, peace be upon the close companion of God and His noble elect, peace be upon the chosen one of God and the son of His chosen one, peace be upon Hussain ,the oppressed and the martyr, peace be upon the captive of sorrows and the slain for whom tears are shed.
اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّى أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ وَ لِيُّكَ وَابْنُ وَلِيِّكَ، وَصَفِيُّكَ وَابْنُ صَفِيِّكَ، الْفَائِزُ بِكَرَامَتِكَ، أَكْرَمْتَهُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ، وَحَبَوْتَهُ بِالسَّعَادَةِ، وَاجْتَبَيْتَهُ بِطِيبِ الْوِلادَةِ، وَجَعَلْتَهُ سَيِّداً مِنَ السَّادَةِ، وَقَائِداً مِنَ الْقَادَةِ، وَذَائِداً مِنَ الذَّادَةِ، وَأَعْطَيْتَهُ مَوَارِيثَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ، وَجَعَلْتَهُ حُجَّةً عَلَىٰ خَلْقِكَ مِنَ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ، فَأَعْذَرَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ، وَمَنَحَ النُّصْحَ،
O God, I bear witness that he is Thy Chosen Guardian and the son of Thy Guardian Thy chosen one and the son of Thy chosen one, the one who attained Thy honour; Thou didst honour him with martyrdom, bestow upon him felicity, select him through the purity of his birth, make him a master among masters, a leader among leaders, a defender among defenders, grant him the inheritances of the prophets, and appoint him, among the successors, as a proof over Thy creation; thus he fulfilled the call so completely that no excuse remained, and he offered sincere counsel.
وَبَذَلَ مُهْجَتَهُ فِيكَ لِيَسْتَنْقِذَ عِبَادَكَ مِنَ الْجَهَالَةِ، وَحَيْرَةِ الضَّلالَةِ، وَقَدْ تَوَازَرَ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ غَرَّتْهُ الدُّنْيا، وَبَاعَ حَظَّهُ بِالْأَرْذَلِ الْأَدْنىٰ، وَشَرَىٰ آخِرَتَهُ بِالثَّمَنِ الْأَوْكَسِ، وَتَغَطْرَسَ وَتَرَدَّىٰ فِي هَوَاهُ، وَأَسْخَطَكَ وَأَسْخَطَ نَبِيَّكَ وَأَطَاعَ مِنْ عِبادِكَ أَهْلَ الشِّقاقِ وَالنِّفاقِ، وَحَمَلَةَ الْأَوْزارِ، الْمُسْتَوْجِبِينَ النَّارَ، فَجاهَدَهُمْ فِيكَ صابِراً مُحْتَسِباً حَتَّىٰ سُفِكَ فِي طَاعَتِكَ دَمُهُ وَاسْتُبِيحَ حَرِيمُهُ؛ اللّٰهُمَّ فَالْعَنْهُمْ لَعْناً وَبِيلاً، وَعَذِّبْهُمْ عَذاباً أَلِيماً .
And he poured forth his lifeblood in Thy cause that he might rescue Thy servants from ignorance and the bewilderment of misguidance, while those whom the world had beguiled rose against him in alliance, sold their portion for the basest and meanest, bartered their hereafter for the poorest price, grew arrogant and cast themselves into the abyss of their desires, provoked Thy wrath and the wrath of Thy Prophet, and obeyed, among Thy servants, the people of discord and hypocrisy, the bearers of heavy burdens who had made themselves deserving of the Fire; yet he strove against them for Thy sake, patient and seeking Thy reward, until his blood was shed in obedience to Thee and the sanctity of his household was violated; O God, therefore curse them with a heavy curse, and chastise them with a painful chastisement.
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ، السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْأَوْصِياءِ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَمِينُ اللّٰهِ وَابْنُ أَمِينِهِ، عِشْتَ سَعِيداً، وَمَضَيْتَ حَمِيداً، وَمُتَّ فَقِيداً، مَظْلُوماً شَهِيداً، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُنْجِزٌ مَا وَعَدَكَ، وَمُهْلِكٌ مَنْ خَذَلَكَ، وَمُعَذِّبٌ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ وَفَيْتَ بِعَهْدِ اللّٰهِ، وَجاهَدْتَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ حَتّىٰ أَتَاكَ الْيَقِينُ، فَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ، وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ ظَلَمَكَ، وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ أُمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذٰلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ؛
Peace be upon thee, O son of the Messenger of God, peace be upon thee, O son of the master of the successors; I bear witness that thou art the trusted one of God and the son of His trusted one; thou didst live in felicity, depart in praise, and die mourned, oppressed, and martyred; and I bear witness that God shall fulfil what He has promised thee, destroy those who forsook thee, and chastise those who slew thee; and I bear witness that thou didst fulfil the covenant of God and strive in His path until certainty came upon thee; so may God curse those who killed thee, and those who wronged thee, and a people who heard of it and were content therewith.
اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنِّي وَلِيٌّ لِمَنْ والاهُ، وَعَدُوٌّ لِمَنْ عاداهُ، بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ نُوراً فِي الْأَصْلابِ الشَّامِخَةِ، وَالْأَرْحامِ الْمُطَهَّرَةِ ، لَمْ تُنَجِّسْكَ الْجاهِلِيَّةُ بِأَنْجاسِها، وَلَمْ تُلْبِسْكَ الْمُدْلَهِمَّاتُ مِنْ ثِيابِها، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ مِنْ دَعائِمِ الدِّينِ، وَأَرْكانِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَمَعْقِلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ الْإِمامُ الْبَرُّ التَّقِيُّ الرَّضِيُّ الزَّكِيُّ الْهادِي الْمَهْدِيُّ،
O God, I call Thee to witness that I am a friend to those who befriend him and an enemy to those who oppose him; may my father and mother be sacrificed in Thy way, O son of the Messenger of God; I bear witness that thou wast a light in the lofty loins and the purified wombs; the age of ignorance stained thee not with its impurities, nor did its dark garments clothe thee; and I bear witness that thou art among the pillars of the religion, the supports of the Muslims, and the stronghold of the believers; and I bear witness that thou art the righteous, God-fearing, content, pure, guiding, and rightly guided Imam.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الْأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ كَلِمَةُ التَّقْوىٰ، وَأَعْلامُ الْهُدىٰ، وَالْعُرْوَةُ الْوُثْقىٰ، وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيا، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّي بِكُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ، وَبِإِيابِكُمْ مُوقِنٌ، بِشَرايِعِ دِينِي، وَخَواتِيمِ عَمَلِي، وَقَلْبِي لِقَلْبِكُمْ سِلْمٌ، وَأَمْرِي لِأَمْرِكُمْ مُتَّبِعٌ، وَنُصْرَتِي لَكُمْ مُعَدَّةٌ حَتَّىٰ يَأْذَنَ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ، فَمَعَكُمْ مَعَكُمْ لَامَعَ عَدُّوِكُمْ، صَلَواتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْكُمْ، وَعَلَىٰ أَرْواحِكُمْ وَأَجْسادِكُمْ، وَشاهِدِكُمْ وَغَائِبِكُمْ، وَظَاهِرِكُمْ وَبَاطِنِكُمْ، آمِينَ رَبَّ الْعالَمِينَ.
And I bear witness that the Imams from thy progeny are the word of piety, the banners of guidance, the firmest handle, and the proof over the people of the world; and I bear witness that I believe in you and am certain of your return, according to the laws of my religion and the seals of my deeds; my heart is at peace with your hearts, my affair follows your affair, and my support is ready for you until God grants you leave; so I am with you, with you, not with your enemies; the blessings of God be upon you, and upon your spirits and your bodies, upon those of you who are present and those who are absent, upon your outward and your inward; amen, O Creator of the worlds.
