The Women’s Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine has begun implementing a special services plan for the days of Arbaeen al-Hussaini, aiming not only to provide services to millions of women pilgrims but also to manage the flow of their movement within the holy Alawi shrine in a smooth and orderly manner.
Ramla al-Khuza’i, head of the Women’s Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“As part of this plan, four large halls have been prepared in the Courtyard of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her) to accommodate and receive the millions-strong crowd of women pilgrims. In addition, four rest areas have been equipped around the holy Alawi shrine and in the Imam Rida (peace be upon him) Complex, and 14 sanitary facility complexes have been made ready for use within the old quarter of the city of Najaf and other locations affiliated with the shrine.”
She added:
- “Under this plan, new routes and entry points have been designated according to a precise plan to allow for easier entry and exit for women pilgrims. A special program is also being implemented to manage the smooth flow of movement, making use of an advanced security system and overseen by a specialized crowd-management team, in which more than 700 honorary women servants from inside and outside Iraq are taking part.”
It is worth noting that the Holy Alawi Shrine, mobilizing all of its departments, is providing services to the pilgrims of Arbaeen al-Hussaini—pilgrims who choose the holy shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) in holy Najaf as one of the most important stops on their pilgrimage before setting out toward holy Karbala to take part in the magnificent rite of Arbaeen.
