The Engineering and Construction Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, through the execution of field missions and dedicated services for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, along with the provision of construction and engineering support across various departments of the shrine, is laying the groundwork for the continued delivery of services to the millions of pilgrims who come to Najaf to visit the shrine of Amir al-Muminin Ali (peace be upon him) before setting out for holy Karbala.
The head of the Engineering and Technical Affairs Department at the Holy Alawi Shrine, Mustafa Mahboubeh, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“By order of the custodianship of the Holy Shrine, the servants working across the various branches and units of this department began their activities from the first day of the month of Safar. These efforts were carried out as part of a structured program to support and sustain Arbaeen services, and included preparing temporary lodging, rest areas, and hospitality facilities for pilgrims. In addition, the areas surrounding the sacred Alawi shrine were equipped, in coordination and cooperation with other departments of the Shrine, with all necessary facilities and equipment and made ready for use.”
He added:
“The second pillar of this department’s services was the establishment of the Jenab Abu Dharr al-Ghifari Mawkib for the distribution of blessed food, drinking water, and hospitality for pilgrims. The third pillar involved forming mobile technical, engineering, and specialized service teams, on call around the clock, ready to respond swiftly to any request coming from reception areas, entrances, and routes leading to the sacred Alawi shrine — repairing, equipping, and restoring them to full working order in the shortest possible time.”
It is worth noting that the Holy Alawi Shrine, in preparing to welcome millions of al-Hussaini Arbaeen pilgrims, has drawn up a comprehensive and far-reaching service plan, aiming not only to offer worthy hospitality to the pilgrims and mourners of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him), but also to provide them with the best possible welfare, technical, and support services throughout the days of Arbaeen.
