As part of its comprehensive service plan for Arbaeen, the Guesthouse and Hospitality Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine provides food services to Arbaeen pilgrims through the Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him) Guesthouse, located in the courtyard of Lady Umm al-Banin (peace be upon her).
Fadhel Khalaf, head of this hospitality center, told the Holy Alawi Shrine News Center:
“This facility distributes approximately 30,000 meals daily among pilgrims, and with the increasing number of pilgrims arriving at the Holy Alawi Shrine, this number reaches as high as 50,000 meals on some days. In addition, thousands of supplementary refreshments are also made available to pilgrims.”
He added:
“The hospitality program began on the seventh of the month of Safar and will continue through the end of the days of Arbaeen. During this period, three meals are provided to pilgrims daily.”
He also noted that these services are carried out with the participation of more than 70 servants and volunteer servants, following a coordinated plan for food preparation and distribution.
It is worth noting that the Holy Alawi Shrine has implemented a comprehensive plan to host the pilgrims of Amir al-Muminin Ali (peace be upon him) during the days of Arbaeen, under which 18 hospitality centers have been established and equipped along the main pilgrim routes, ensuring smoother service delivery to meet the needs of the millions of pilgrims present in the city of Najaf al-Ashraf.
