The Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine announced that the Shrine has assumed responsibility for supporting the reconstruction project of the operating room and other infrastructure at the Cancer Treatment Center in Najaf al-Ashraf.
The matter was raised during a meeting between Sayyid Eisa al-Khirsan, Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, and a delegation from the Najaf al-Ashraf Cancer Center headed by Dr. Haidar al-Shibli. The Director of the Rasul al-Aatham Medical Center, affiliated with the Holy Alawi Shrine, was also present at the meeting.
In his remarks, the Deputy Custodian welcomed Dr. al-Shibli, commended the vital role played by the center’s specialized medical staff in treating and caring for patients, and affirmed the Shrine’s continued humanitarian role and support for the center. He added: “The Holy Alawi Shrine will continue its support by reconstructing and upgrading critical sections of the treatment center, particularly the operating room.”
Jawad Ismaili, Director of the Rasul al-Aatham Medical Center, stated:
“By order of the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, the Shrine’s specialized engineering and construction staff will undertake the reconstruction of the operating room and the upgrading of the center’s infrastructure. A dedicated committee will be present on-site to oversee the reconstruction process, and will also review and record certain requirements identified by the center’s management so that the necessary measures can be implemented.”
Following the meeting, Dr. al-Shibli said:
“This was our second meeting with the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine. During this meeting, we discussed the state of the healthcare sector and the ongoing crisis facing the Najaf al-Ashraf Cancer Treatment Center. A delegation from the Holy Alawi Shrine is also to visit the center to help address its needs.”
He concluded by expressing gratitude for the continuous, fatherly support extended by the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine to the center, its medical staff, and in particular to hospitalized patients, as well as to other segments of the community in the city of Najaf al-Ashraf.
