The Holy Alawi Shrine announced the dispatch of an extensive Mawkib, made up of servants working across various departments of the Shrine, to the city of Samarra.
This Mawkib set out for Samarra with the aim of taking part in serving pilgrims on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him), in coordination with the Holy Shrine of the Two Askari Imams (peace be upon them).
Salam al-Jubouri, head of this Mawkib, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“This Mawkib is made up of servants working across various departments of the Shrine, particularly the Pilgrim Guesthouse, Security, Services, Engineering and Construction Affairs, and Media departments.”
He added:
“Several stages were carried out to prepare and dispatch this Mawkib. In the first stage, the necessary coordination was carried out through the Public Relations Department of the Shrine with colleagues at the Holy Shrine of the Two Askari Imams (peace be upon them). Following that, servants from the Services and Engineering and Construction Affairs departments were dispatched to prepare the required locations and carry out the tasks assigned to the Mawkib.”
A Range of Services for Pilgrims in Samarra
He continued:
“From the time pilgrims arrive in Samarra until the end of the pilgrimage ceremonies, over a period of five days, the Mawkib of the Holy Alawi Shrine provides services including the distribution of blessed gifts and hospitality for pilgrims, participation in transporting pilgrims and servants, preparing various sections of the sacred shrine of the Two Askari Imams (peace be upon them), and the presence of servants at the mourning ceremonies held beside the shrine of the Two Askari Imams (peace be upon them).”
Followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him) every year on the 8th of Rabi al-Awwal, in the city of Samarra, beside his sacred resting place.
