The Holy Alawi Shrine is completing its final preparations for the ceremony marking the millennium of the Najaf Seminary.
The Holy Alawi Shrine announced the completion of its preparations to host and support the grand launch ceremony for the “Millennium of the Najaf Seminary” project. The ceremony will be held in the precinct of the shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him), under the slogan “Fidelity to a thousand years in which Najaf raised the banner of knowledge, and the beginning of an era that links this heritage to the future.”
This was discussed during a meeting of the committee overseeing the management of the ceremony’s programs, held to review the latest preparations and the event’s operational and technical details. The meeting was attended by Haidar al-Issawi, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Holy Alawi Shrine and a member of the Millennium Project’s Supreme Committee, along with representatives from various departments and heads of centers at the Holy Alawi Shrine. Representatives from the Security Department, the Public Relations Department, the al-Nathm Strategic Planning and Development Center, and the Media Department were also present.
Haidar al-Issawi, member of the Board of Trustees of the Holy Alawi Shrine, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“The Holy Alawi Shrine has completed its preparations to hold the launch ceremony for the ‘Millennium of the Najaf Seminary’ project — a ceremony in which the history, heritage, culture, and scholarly and social role of the seminary will be examined, from its founding by Shaikh al-Tusi (may his secret be sanctified) to the present day, and its role in the production of knowledge and learning.”
Regarding the completion of the final preparations for the launch of the “Millennium of the Seminary” project, Jaafar al-Bidairi, Deputy Head of the Media Department, told the News Center:
“These preparations have included sending invitations to a number of prominent figures and guests, including seminary scholars and grand religious authorities, offices of religious authorities and religious schools, as well as international guests and academics from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Lebanon, and Pakistan.”
He added:
“The ceremony will also be attended by representatives from government ministries and provincial officials, alongside academic and scholarly figures and the presidents of Iraqi universities.”
Regarding the media coverage of the ceremony, al-Bidairi noted extensive preparations under a joint plan between the Holy Alawi Shrine’s satellite network and the News Center, including social media platforms.
These preparations include setting up special display screens for the ceremony around the shrine, erecting and decorating a special platform for the event, developing a media plan, inviting television networks and media institutions, and providing “clean feed” services to all institutions participating in the media coverage of the event.
It is worth noting that the “Millennium of the Najaf Seminary” project is considered a major and unparalleled event at the level of the Islamic world. It is a strategic initiative that will span more than three years and will include numerous programs and events for various groups.
The project will be carried out with the support of the Holy Alawi Shrine and the participation of academic and scholarly institutions, foremost among them the Najaf Seminary itself.
