Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine Holds Evaluation Meeting With the Specialized Team of the "Millennium of the Najaf Seminary" Project

A meeting chaired by the deputy custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine was held to review and evaluate the programs of the "Millennium of the Najaf Seminary" project.

With the attendance of Sayyid Eisa al-Khirsan, deputy custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, the “Millennium of the Najaf Seminary” board held its periodic meeting.

At the meeting, the achievements made since the launch of the project and the programs planned for the coming phases were followed up. Specialized teams for planning, supervision, and oversight were also appointed to continue the activities commemorating one thousand years of scholarly life at the seminary.

Periodic Meeting

Mustafa Muhammad Al-Haidar, a member of the “Millennium of the Najaf Seminary” board, told the Shrine’s News Center:

“This meeting was chaired by the deputy custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, with the participation of members of the supreme, executive, and supervisory committees.”

He added:

“At the meeting, the files of the ‘Millennium of the Najaf Seminary’ project and its stages of implementation were discussed and reviewed, in order to ensure coordination among the relevant bodies in holding the programs marking the seminary’s thousandth anniversary.”

Comprehensive Review

Al-Haidar continued: “At the meeting, views and proposals related to the implementation of this project were discussed.”

The plan for holding the upcoming phases was then reviewed, comprising programs that the Holy Alawi Shrine intends to hold in cooperation with the other holy shrines. Suggestions and recommendations concerning the upcoming programs and the mechanisms for carrying them out were also examined.

Formation of Specialized Teams

Al-Haidar noted: “At the meeting, the appointment of specialized teams for planning, follow-up, and supervision was discussed.”

He emphasized the importance of holding periodic meetings chaired by the deputy custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, with the heads of the supreme, executive, and supervisory committees in attendance, to carry out, follow up on, and meet the needs of the project’s future phases.

It is worth noting that the “Millennium of the Najaf Seminary” project is being held with the support of the Holy Alawi Shrine and in cooperation with the other holy shrines, with the aim of commemorating one thousand years of scholarly activity at the Najaf seminary, since the arrival of Shaikh al-Tusi in Najaf — a seminary that, throughout this thousand-year journey, has produced valuable scholarly and intellectual achievements.
