Imam Ali Holy Shrine Launches Quranic Activities in the Iraqi Capital

The Imam Ali Holy Shrine inaugurated its Quranic activities in Baghdad by organizing two scholarly sessions attended by a group of specialists and researchers in Quranic studies.

The Dar al-Quran Center, affiliated with the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, continues its special program of Quranic forums across the provinces of Iraq. In this context, and in collaboration with the Union of Quranic Scholars in Baghdad, the center convened two distinguished sessions featuring experts and academics in the field of Quranic sciences.

Promoting Quranic Awareness and Cultural Enrichment

Ala Muhsin, Head of the Dar al-Quran Center, stated to the Shrine’s News Center:
“The purpose of these sessions is to promote the culture of the Holy Quran, deepen public awareness of its teachings, and highlight its transformative impact on the individual and society. The program also underscores the vital role of religious institutions in preserving and reinforcing authentic Quranic values.”

Scholarly Dialogue on the Quran of Imam Ali (peace be upon him)

Dr. Ahmad al-Najafi, one of the lecturers and speakers at the event, explained:
“The first session focused on the Quran attributed to Imam Ali (peace be upon him), examining its distinct characteristics and historical significance. The second session explored the integrity and preservation of the Quranic text throughout history, presenting various scientific and manuscript-based evidences, including laboratory analyses of early Quranic manuscripts from the first Islamic century conducted in specialized European research centers.”

Broad Engagement and Continuing Efforts

Both sessions received an enthusiastic response from attendees, fostering insightful discussions and academic exchange. These programs form part of the ongoing efforts of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine to disseminate the authentic teachings of the Holy Quran and to strengthen the spirit of reflection and contemplation within society.

It is noteworthy that the Shrine’s Quranic forums have so far been held in fourteen Iraqi provinces—including Nineveh, Kirkuk, Basra, Diyala, Dhi Qar, Salah al-Din, Baghdad, Wasit, Diwaniyah, and Muthanna—with the participation of prominent scholars, seminary professors, and distinguished Quran reciters.
