Holding Devotional Programs on the Occasion of Eid al-Fitr at the Holy Alawi Shrine

During the blessed Eid al-Fitr, the Religious Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine is conducting comprehensive devotional and guidance programs.

Represented by its Religious Affairs Department, the Holy Alawi Shrine commenced the devotional ceremonies of the blessed Eid al-Fitr with the performance of prayers on the first day of Shawwal, 1447 AH. This ceremony was held with a massive attendance of pilgrims who gathered at the Shrine of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) to commemorate this blessed occasion.

The Deputy Head of the Shrine’s Religious Affairs Department, Sayed Yusuf al-Mousavi, stated in an interview with the Shrin’s news center:

“The Eid prayer was held in three consecutive shifts to accommodate the large crowds of worshippers. The first prayer was performed at the scheduled time, followed by the second prayer, while the third prayer was dedicated to providing an opportunity for pilgrims who arrived late due to crowding and congestion, ensuring they did not miss this blessed act of worship.”

He added:

“The Shrine’s Religious Affairs Department has also arranged a comprehensive program to answer religious inquiries (istiftaat) coinciding with the presence of pilgrims during the Eid holidays. Specifically, special stations for answering religious questions have been deployed both inside and outside the Holy Alawi Shrine to meet the needs of pilgrims and provide appropriate religious guidance.”

al-Mousavi explained:

“This program also included the holding of special gatherings for female pilgrims, conducted under the supervision of experienced and capable female servants from this department. In these gatherings, religious questions were answered, and additionally, awareness-raising lectures specifically for women were delivered.”

He further stated:

“The program also included a jurisprudential pulpit (minbar) during the hours preceding the Dhuhr prayer and a guidance lecture in the afternoon hours before the Maghrib prayer. These lectures focused on clarifying religious rulings related to the end of the holy month of Ramadan and welcoming the days of Eid.”

This program is held within the framework of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s efforts to provide comprehensive religious services to pilgrims and revive religious rituals—an endeavor aimed at strengthening religious awareness and responding to the needs of the faithful on such a blessed occasion.
