Red Carpeting of the Holy Shrine’s Surroundings and Outer Courtyards Begins

This initiative is part of the services provided by the servants of the Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) for the Hussaini mourning processions and pilgrims who visit this sacred site during the first ten days of Muharram to participate in mourning ceremonies.

Haidar Muhammad Jasim, a member of the Board of Directors of the Holy Alawi Shrine, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:

“As part of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s efforts to provide a safe and suitable environment for mourning processions visiting the Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), shrine personnel have begun covering the surrounding areas with red carpeting.

The area designated for carpeting exceeds 20,000 square meters, with the possibility of further expansion.

Additional spaces within the shrine’s surrounding development projects will also be allocated to accommodate and serve mourners.”

It is worth noting that the Custodianship of the Holy Alawi Shrine has already prepared comprehensive plans and service programs for the Hussaini mourning season during the month of Muharram.

Special arrangements have also been made to host and serve pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, as millions of visitors from inside and outside Iraq arrive at the Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), making it a central station and gathering point before continuing their journey to Holy Karbala for the Arbaeen commemorations.
