The Information Technology Center of the Holy Alawi Shrine, in collaboration with the Security Department, has launched a range of digital initiatives aimed at expanding the services offered to pilgrims of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him) and strengthening synergy and technical integration among the holy shrines, institutions, and organizations participating in this mega-visit.
Hashim Abd Ali, head of the Systems and Software Development Unit, told the Shrine’s News Center:
“During the Arbaeen ceremony, we implemented a project to unify the information database of the lost persons guidance system across all holy shrines and supporting bodies. This allows any lost or missing person to be searched for and found through all systems linked to the shrines or participating organizations, all based on a single database. It speeds up the process of guiding lost individuals and reuniting them with their families, and it’s one of the most important technological initiatives by the Holy Alawi Shrine during Arbaeen.”
He added:
“The unit has also upgraded the user interface of the lost persons guidance system and added new virtual features and services to make it easier for both staff and pilgrims to use. We’ve also expanded the ‘Tasharruf bi al-Khidma’ (Honor of Service) program by adding a virtual registration form within the ‘Wafid’ app, so anyone interested can sign up virtually and submit their request to serve the pilgrims.”
He went on: “The unit is also running the Arbaeen quiz through the ‘Wafid’ app. It has 20 cultural and religious questions and runs from the first to the twentieth of the month of Safar. There are valuable prizes for the winners. The aim is to boost religious awareness and increase virtual engagement with pilgrims.”
The Holy Alawi Shrine, through all its various departments, is putting in maximum effort to achieve full readiness and provide organized, high-quality services to the pilgrims of Amir al-Muminin Ali (peace be upon him) during Arbaeen.
