As millions of pilgrims converged on the Shrine of the Two Askari Imams (peace be upon them) for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him), the Holy Alawi Shrine continued to provide services in the city of Samarra, with the participation of its servants from various departments.
Monitoring Services to Pilgrims
Sayyid Eisa al-Khirsan, Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, traveled to Samarra to personally review the work of the shrine’s servants and to be briefed on the services being provided to pilgrims. He also oversaw the efforts of the Mawakib and Husseini delegations taking part in the commemoration.
Joint Coordination
The Public Relations Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine began coordinating well in advance with its counterpart at the Holy Askari Shrine to arrange suitable conditions for the deployment of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s Mawkib and the presence of official delegations taking part in the visitation ceremony.
Transport and Logistical Support
The Transportation and Machinery Department carried out a comprehensive program covering transport, the movement of pilgrims, and equipment support, including the provision of various service vehicles, helping to facilitate pilgrims’ movement and support field operations.
Distribution of 15,000 Meals Daily
The Guesthouse Department is distributing more than 15,000 blessed meals daily among pilgrims, a service that will continue from the pilgrims’ arrival in Samarra through the conclusion of the visitation ceremonies.
Organizing Pilgrim Movement
The Security Department’s servants have taken the necessary measures to facilitate pilgrims’ movement and organize entry and exit routes, helping to ease crowd flow and safeguard the security and wellbeing of pilgrims.
Comprehensive Media Coverage
The Media Department’s servants have been documenting the services of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s Mawkib, the visitation ceremonies, and the presence of pilgrims and mourning processions, ensuring fitting coverage of the occasion and the large turnout of pilgrims in Samarra.
Ongoing Service and Engineering Support
The Services Affairs and Engineering and Construction Affairs Departments have mobilized their capacities to support the personnel working alongside the Holy Askari Shrine. These efforts include preparing and equipping places of worship and providing carpets, as well as helping to set up and maintain fixed and mobile sanitation facilities and other round-the-clock field activities.
