The Holy Alawi Shrine announced the completion of preparations to launch the programs of the fifth edition of International Sadiqayn Week, held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Noble Prophet of Islam and Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (peace be upon him).
This week includes a variety of programs aimed at commemorating the occasion and strengthening its place in public cultural awareness among different segments of society.
The head of the al-Nathm Center, the Strategic Planning and Development Unit, Wisam Eskandar, stated in an interview with the Shrine’s News Center:
“The fifth edition of Sadiqayn Week will be held with a rich program of activities that bring together religious, cultural, and interactive dimensions while enabling the participation of various groups. Programs will also be held outside Iraq.”
He added:
“This week’s programs include the central flag-changing ceremony, Quranic circles, a lecture series titled ‘The Grace of the Two Sadiqs,’ a virtual competition, as well as honorary programs and social activities such as honoring newborn infants and outstanding individuals, along with the children of the Holy Alawi Shrine’s staff.”
He continued:
“The cultural, literary, and artistic sector also has a significant presence in this week’s programs, through the exhibition ‘The Radiance of Prophethood,’ a public celebration at the holy Alawi shrine, the International Arabic Poetry Festival ‘The Great Messenger,’ and the Prophetic Poetry Festival for teenagers. These programs will play a role in introducing and highlighting literary and artistic works related to the life of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and Islamic values.”
Eskandar noted:
“This program also includes intellectual and social activities, such as the dialogue-based session ‘Woman and the School of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him),’ the children’s cultural platform ‘Mohsen,’ and a gathering of officials from protocol committees. Hospitality and catering programs for pilgrims have also been arranged.”
The head of the al-Nathm Center also emphasized the international dimension of Sadiqayn Week: “The blessed gathering of ‘al-Nurayn’ will be held in the Republic of Azerbaijan and in Pakistan. This reflects the expansion of this occasion to various countries and the Holy Alawi Shrine’s commitment to strengthening religious and cultural ties with Islamic institutions and communities, and to supporting Islamic activities outside Iraq.”
These programs, within the framework of joint efforts among the related departments and units of the Holy Alawi Shrine, and the completion of their organizational, technical, media, and service dimensions, have sought to ensure that this occasion is held in a manner befitting its sanctity — further strengthening the Holy Alawi Shrine’s standing as a supporter and host of religious, cultural, and intellectual activities, and as an active institution in the domestic and international cultural sphere.
