Represented by the Alawi Education Board, the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine opened the Alawi Schools Complex concurrent with the programs of Two Sadiqs Week, held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and his esteemed grandson, Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (peace be upon him). The opening was attended by a number of official, educational, academic, and social figures.
The opening ceremony was attended by Yousif Kanawi, Governor of Najaf Ashraf, and Hussein al-Eisawi, Chairman of the Provincial Council, along with the support and presence of Ehsan al-Taie, Assistant Director of the Custodianship of the Holy Alawi Shrine, as well as members of the Board of Directors and heads of various departments.
The ceremony opened with an address by the Deputy Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, delivered on his behalf by Mustafa Manea, a member of the Board of Directors. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of knowledge and its role in shaping human character, stating:
“Schools are a setting for the pursuit of knowledge, a field for character formation, and a ground for the cultivation of values.”
He added that these schools’ affiliation with the Holy Alawi Shrine doubles their responsibility to instill knowledge and morality and to nurture lofty aspirations in students.
At the opening ceremony, a number of official figures also delivered remarks, praising the role of the Holy Alawi Shrine in supporting the education sector in Najaf Ashraf province and in improving the educational environment — an effort aimed at raising a generation equipped with knowledge and skills and adorned with moral values.
Murtadha al-Hammami, official spokesperson of the Alawi Education Board, stated:
“The Board’s activity is not limited to the administration of a group of schools; rather, it is an integrated educational system that works to shape the student’s character, discover his talents, and play a role in charting a different future in the field of education and upbringing.”
