Extensive Provision of Drinking Water for Pilgrims on Qadr Nights by the Holy Alawi Shrine

The Water Production Unit of the Holy Alawi Shrine announced its full readiness to serve pilgrims on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and during the Qadr nights.

The Water Production Unit, affiliated with the Engineering and Construction Affairs Department of the Holy Alawi Shrine, announced the full readiness of its forces and the implementation of its special program to supply the water needs of pilgrims during the days of the martyrdom anniversary of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) and the blessed Qadr nights.

The head of the unit, Eng. Fadhel al-Tabatabaei, stated in an interview with the news center of the Holy Alawi Shrine:

“Within the framework of the planned service for this occasion, all servants of this unit have been put on standby, and the implementation of a comprehensive plan to supply healthy drinking water, as well as water for the pilgrims’ service and personal needs, has been placed on the agenda on a 24-hour basis.”

Referring to the water production capacity of the unit, he added:

“The daily drinking water production reaches approximately one million and 700 thousand liters, and in addition to that, more than two million liters of raw water are supplied for other service needs.”

According to him, this volume of water is produced and made available to various departments through an integrated system that is active at all hours of the day.

Al-Tabatabaei also announced support measures for serving the processions (Mawkibs) and said:

“Technical teams have prepared special stations for filling water tankers, so that the water needs of the Mawkibs stationed in the old city of Najaf Al-Ashraf can be met. This action has been carried out in cooperation with the transportation department.”

He further added:

“In order to facilitate services to pilgrims, the drinking fountains located around the sacred courtyard of Alawi have also been inspected, repaired, and prepared to meet the needs of the large number of pilgrims during these days.”

These measures are being taken within the framework of the comprehensive service program of the Holy Alawi Shrine to provide the best services to the pilgrims who come to Najaf Al-Ashraf to offer condolences and participate in the mourning ceremonies of the martyrdom anniversary of Amir al-Muminin (peace be upon him) and to revive the Qadr nights.
